We require a person who will be required to:

  • Receive all deliveries and check the goods received
  • Liaise with all departments about delivery and any discrepancies
  • Stock taking / transferring of stock
  • Keep details records of any shortages and spares in stock
  • Update inventory management system
  • Pick and deliver stock
  • Build kits
  • Upkeep of tidy yard
  • Top-up of parts on floor
  • Move trailer chassis to different stages as and when needed

Fork lift licence would be an advantage

Stock Control Coordinator

We require a Stock Control Coordinator to join our team at bmi trailers.

Duties will include but not exhaustive of:

  • Stock control management – the right candidate will have a drive to be able and willing to work on the implementation of an updated and more efficient stock management system
  • Liaise with all departments about delivery and any discrepancies
  • Stock taking / transferring of stock
  • Keep detailed records of any shortages and spares in stock
  • Update inventory management system
  • Manage stores personnel and assist them where needed.
  • Build kits

Criteria:

  • Previous experience in stock control (preferred)
  • Previous experience using stock control management systems (preferred) and experience of implementing an improved stock control system would be highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience with pick lists and Builds of Materials (BOM's) (preferred).
  • Previous experience with build kits (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages, in particular Outlook and Excel (preferred).

Commercial Spray Painter

We are expanding our Spray Painting Team and are recruiting for a Commercial Spray Painter. 

The commercial painter is responsible for providing industrial spray painting, priming and coating on multiple surfaces. Reporting to the Paint Shop Supervisor

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist as necessary with the preparation of trailer surfaces and the application of primer to trailer chassis and small parts.
  • The application of varnish, polyurethane, primer, paint, and other specialty coatings.
  • Choose premixed paints or mix the required pigment, oil, thinning or drying substances to match the colour spec.
  • Mask and prepare structure surfaces for coatings.
  • Blend and reduce paint systems and apply paint to meet specifications.
  • Clean and maintain equipment by removing all traces of paint.
  • Repair and remodel imperfections.
  • Provide quality work and take corrective action for conditions that may affect job quality.
  • Safe operation of all necessary machinery
  • Working efficiently to minimise waste of raw materials
  • Maintaining a clean & tidy working area
  • Adherence to the Company's policies and legal duties, specifically control of emissions, management of solvents and the recycling of waste product.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a painter or similar role.
  • Knowledge of painting techniques and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Duties

  • Operate power tools and hand tools to fabricate metal components according to specifications.
  • Perform MIG welding techniques to assemble parts and structures.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to understand project requirements.
  • Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet industry standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance product quality.
  • Utilise basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks.
  • Work with sheet metal, ensuring precise cuts and welds for optimal assembly.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in fabrication and welding, with a strong understanding of mechanical principles (3 years preferred).
  • Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment.
  • Familiarity with MIG welding techniques is essential; additional welding certifications are advantageous.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations in fabrication processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
